Forged in Tradition

Carried with Honour

The House of Copper is a metal arts studio founded by Dustin Riel McGladrey, a Nisga’a artist dedicated to revitalizing and celebrating the ancient craft of copperwork. Specializing in ceremonial and ornamental copper designs, Dustin’s work brings to life the beauty, power, and cultural significance of copper shields and adornments pieces that have been worn and honoured by First Nations communities for thousands of years.

Rooted in tradition yet crafted for today, The House of Copper was created to fill a gap in copper artistry on the West Coast, particularly in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver area. Dustin’s xq is to ensure that our nations can continue to carry and wear these sacred designs, reflecting the strength, history, and resilience of Indigenous peoples.

Custom Copper Creations

Each piece is handcrafted with deep respect for Nisga’a culture and the broader traditions of First Nations copperwork. Whether for ceremony, regalia, or personal adornment, Dustin’s designs carry forward an art form that has long been integral to our identity and storytelling.
